The Snore Eliminator is a stop snoring mouthpiece that was designed to be effective and affordable. Sylvan Inc. based out of North Myrtle Beach South Carolina is the company behind this product. It is owned and operated by Entrepreneur Sylvan Newby. The actual device was designed by Dr. William Vachon, a Myrtle Beach oral surgeon who has been practicing for 15 years now. The oral appliance was recently released into the market in October of 2011 and has since become a commonly discussed snoring solution across several blogs and message board.
The device itself is classified as a “therapeutic mouth guard used to prevent snoring” and is considered to be a mandibular advancement device. It works by positioning the lower jaw forward so that it slightly protrudes from its original position. As a result, internal muscles and fat are pulled forward, clearing the airway. This procedure for correcting snoring has been proven in clinical trials and used for over two decades now. An overwhelming majority of people who have used similar guards to prevent snoring have had success.

- Using your stove or microwave, heat a bowl of water to boiling temperatures. Remove from heat source and set aside.

- Carefully submerge the entire device into the boiling water for a few seconds then remove
- After a few seconds, ensure that it is no longer scalding hot by touching it to your skin.
- Insert into the mouth and firmly bit down while pushing your cheeks in for several seconds. Meanwhile, continuously suck in to remove as much air from your mouth as possible.
- Remove the entire device and place in a bowl of ice-cold water. It will help to prepare this water ahead of time.
- Check to ensure that you have achieved the desired fit. If not, you may repeat the process a couple of time.
The secret behind the mouthguards ability to reshape itself is due to the material in which it is made from. While the manufacturer does not specify exactly what it uses to create its product, similar ones are created from a thermoplastic material the becomes pliable and shape-able once it reaches temperatures in excess of 170 degrees or so. Since the most effective way to reach a consistent temperature across the entire surface is to boil it, this is the technique that is widely used.

There, however, some common side effects that this snoring device share with others. The most notable side effect is a sore mouth after using the product. Unfortunately, any time you introduce something new to your body it typically reacts in a negative fashion. Luckily, this symptom typically clears up after just a few days. In addition, you may have a difficult time keeping the Snore Eliminator in your mouth at night. If this is the case, try to remold it for a better fit.
